Guide for Authors

The EGS Journal is published by the Egyptian Geophysical Society (EGS). The main purpose of the journal is to publish articles, classified as original contributed papers, technical notes, and review papers, of both applied and theoretical aspects, aiming at dissemination and promotion of geophysical knowledge, particularly in areas pertaining to petroleum, mineral, groundwater exploration, geotechnical engineering, and earth structural studies.

Submissions to this journal are only accepted through our online platform, where you will be systematically guided through the process of creating and uploading your files. Our online submission system automatically consolidates your files into a single PDF, which is essential during the peer-review process. To typeset your article for final publication, you'll need editable files like Word or LaTeX.

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the guidelines given below for the preparation of the article.

Title: The title should be concise and informative.

Author list and their affiliations: One of the authors should be identified as the corresponding Author and should include his/her full name, affiliation, postal address, telephone, and email address on the cover page of the manuscript. All other authors should provide full names, affiliations, and email addresses. For the Author(s) title: use Font 14, capitals, bold and centered. Then use Font 12, for name(s) of authors, and Font 11 Italics for author(s) affiliation

An abstract (300- 500 words) should immediately precede the Introduction. It should be most informative, giving a clear indication of the nature and range of the results obtained in the paper.

Keywords: Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords,

Main text: The main text should be composed of an introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.

Illustrations and tabulations should accompany the typescript. All photographs, charts, and diagrams are to be referred to as figures, and should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are referred to in the text. Brief captions should be provided to make the figures as informative as possible.
