Abstract

In aero-magnetic survey, magnetic noise from the flying platform is one of the factors that determine the data’s accuracy. Normally, light aircraft, which are often used as the platforms in aero-magnetic survey, can cause remarkable magnetic interference. Removing this kind of interference is important to improve the data’s accuracy. So, in the present paper, an approach in aero-magnetic compensation was investigated. The compensation results have been evaluated, verified, and compared with the traditional compensation methods. The results of the proposed approach were shown to be easy to process with high efficiency. Standard flying and coefficients extractions can easily be calculated, based on physical and mathematical methods, and the accuracy relies only on the efficiency of the numerical calculations. The advantage of this approach is that the accuracy can be significantly improved since the geomagnetic field is far outweighs the magnetic interference. Finally, an error factor value of 0.3513 was obtained, compared with that value of 1.0, which, is presently obtained applying traditional techniques.
